Acorns

Acorns. Falling, rolling, bouncing on the roof, the windows, the deck and anything else they land on.  I suspect the squirrels are playing 'throw the acorns' and this is their prime game season. I sit outside, an umbrella held over my head and watch. Forget the sports on TV, throwing acorns has no rules. And I wonder--are acorns a fruit or nut or something else. I don't remember them mentioned in my biology courses many long years ago.  I've been told by a knowledgeable person that the oak trees have a heavy mast every other year. Each season there are more and more acorns, so it's hard to tell which season we're experiencing.  I thinking of artificial oak trees. They might shed but not to the extent of the leaves that fall off our water oaks. And there would be no tree-sex. There would be no acorns. Yes that sounds good. This and blogging is all too new for me.  Don't know what I'm doing, but never have.  Lots of love and laughter...p
